Not sure what your goal is, but even with 10% battery degradation, a Gen 1 R1T should still meet or exceed the R2 in real-world highway range.

I continue to believe that a properly priced Gen 1 R1 represents one of the best overall values out there: under $60k, under 60,000 miles, a much larger battery, excellent capability, and highway range that can still rival or beat the R2 despite its lower efficiency.

For reference, I still daily-drive a 2016 Model S, and I have little doubt the Gen 1 R1s will still be around at least that long; and likely much longer.

I'm trying to decide if the R2 will eventually replace my R1T, as the warranty expires June 2027. I waited two years for my June 2022 delivery of my LE and just got invited to order the R2 so clearly I'm a big Rivian fan.

I love my R1T and it's been super reliable but priorities have changed as we adopted two 65 lb dogs and an SUV would make it easier for trips with them as they fill up the back seat of my R1T now.

I travel from San Diego to St George a few times per year with my motorcycle in the bed and can make it to Baker (209 miles) for my first charge in the R1T. I need a second charge in Moapa to top off before arriving in STG. I was hoping I could do no worse in the R2 with a hitch hauler carrying the bike. Having to charge adds about an hour to what would be a six hour drive in an ICE car. Just wondering if the R2 can do at least as well with teh faster charging even though it's essentially range. I also travel to the bay area and I'm one of those people who hates stopping, so in the end trying to compare the longer drive times and longer charging of the R1 against the shorter times in the R2.

It really helps me seeing the two vehicles make the same trip and which arrives sooner regardless of charge times and distance between charges. Thanks

My understanding is the R2 will make the trip(s) significantly faster than an R1, however the range at high speeds may not be as good. You can experiment with ABRP to see and compare drives, it’s the same system/tool that Rivian uses.
