I'm a little surprised no one has talked about the battery in the R2/R3 line.

Tesla made a big deal about the 4680 battery and how it was going to revolutionize the economics of their vehicles. It's being used in some MY and the CT but we haven't heard more about it.

BMW is apparently also using the 4695 battery:

The 4695 is a little taller and would presumably have even more energy.

Is Rivian partnering with CATL or EVE to source the batteries?

Apparently, it means they'll be eligible for the tax credits:

Will this battery form factor use LFP?
The links say it's NMC but I wouldn't be surprised if there's an LFP variant in the cheapest R2, which has a range of 270 miles suggesting possible lower-density cells or reduced cell count.
