Issue: Every time I open or close my passenger rear door, it annoyingly creaks. It's very prominent when it's warmer out. None of my other doors do this.
Background: I got my Rivian about 3 weeks ago and it's been present since day 1. I have an appointment to fix this (among other minor items I have) but I figured I can try to fix it if it's easy. At first glance, it seems like it's coming from the door hinges but after some sleuthing, it's actually coming from the external black B-pillar plastic trim garnish on the door frame. My 2 videos demonstrate the sound that it makes. For some reason, the black garnish rubs on the door frame panel and it squeaks from small vibrations such as opening/closing the door or if I directly pushed on it (very prominent).
Fix: I ended up getting some leftover Xpel PPF clear bra material (I used it to protect my bikes at high strike areas) and wedged about 1/4" square piece in between the black plastic garnish and the door frame at the lowest point. Blue dots denote where the interface was causing the squeaking (see image below). I used PPF as it is quite durable/pliable and has an adhesive backing so it won't move later on and would be more resistant to the elements. I would imagine that you could use other things to wedge in there (like felt) but I'm not sure of the long-term durability due to the exterior exposure. The rear passenger side door now opens/closes without any weird creaking noises.
