Wouldn't that be diabolical if Rivian had all it's cars capped at 95% and as the user, your battery degredation would be significantly reduced because you could never charge to true 100%?

E.G. having a buffer that every car has?

Not on the higher end, read the post. For example, Tesla charges to actual 100% per the BMS that lists the bricks in each module at 4.2v, the 100% mark for an 18650.
