Rivian's changed a few things since the original pre-orders. The black mats are gone. I think they also had a front PPF option that disappeared too, at least I recall seeing it before I finally ordered.

I'm surprised they don't inform you when something you order is no longer available, it's never as good to let the customer discover that for themselves.

Thanks all. This won't make me turn down the delivery, but I don't understand why I placed an order for exactly what I wanted if they're just going to give me what they have. I could have picked one off the store in that case.
Well, imagine placing a special order during the pandemic. When my truck was delivered, half the chips weren’t available so a few things were stripped down! Just the way it is…

I had some changes with my initial pre-order as well, particularly lightwood. That said, I didn’t buy their mats in the first place as I think others non-OEM have better coverage. I have been happy with liner X, great coverage. Tux mats look good as well.

Does that affect orders make when black mats were an option? Are they just going to not honor the configuration I made when I placed my order?
FWIW, I believe the order agreement states that both the price and options are subject to change.

Okay, so a version of this annoyed me, as well. I totally get this is very minor, but it’s more the principal…

Ordered my R1T to get F&F discount by delivery on 9/30, had to get closest configuration they had to what I wanted. Had chilewich mats. Charged me $200 for them. Two days after my order, they became standard and free. No one at rivian cared.

Does it change how I feel about the truck and company? No, I’m not crazy. Was I annoyed that no one cared given how much the truck costs? Yes.

Could be stranger. I got three emails in a row a week before delivery that my order was cancelled, a new order placed, and then confirmed for a different VIN. Something must have happened to our initial order in transit, and they gave us a different vehicle... Can't complain, the new one was exactly the same but with premium audio, that we didn't get charged for.

Some actual communication about the issue from Rivian other than form emails would have been nice though... If I didn't look closely I might not have realized the VIN changed and I needed to update insurance (since I had already set that up).
