I recently purchased a 2013 Model S P85 and was surprised how much better its audio system sounded then both my 23 R1T Daul Max and my 23 R1S Quad large. I personally love to feel the Bass in songs and wonder if Rivian could add a separate sub control in the equalizer similar to what Tesla has. I’m leasing both Rivian’s and didn’t want to upgrade speakers/subwoofers until I knew if I was purchasing either at the end of the leases. Hoping this gets seen by someone who can add the control in a future update.

The following applies to the R1T only:

I believe that the Tesla is properly designed and uses only the sub-woofer for the lowest frequencies, with other speakers only playing the higher frequencies. For the poorly designed R1T sound system, the small "sub-woofer" is merely used to augment the deep bass frequencies. The four door woofers also handle the lowest frequencies. Adding a sub control like the Tesla would end up only adding a small amount of bass and tend to easily overdrive the small "sub-woofer, resulting in excessive distortion.

I removed the sub below the rear seat and added a JL subwoofer, equalizer/amplifier and remote sub level control. Amp is powered via the 12v outlet in the gear tunnel. I adjusted the Rivians lowest equalizer frequency downward to limit output to the door speakers. The amplifier level control allows adjustment to optimize for volume, road noise, source material and personal preference. Everything is easily reversable to the stock configuration at the end of the lease.

Good sound, yes. Accurate sound, not so much no matter which car it is.
I'd rather Rivian had designed an audio system that works with and or integrates sound calibration software like Dirac Live. Sound (and video) calibration rule.
