Hey everyone,
I am getting ready for my purchase. In addition to state taxes, what are the other documentation/registration etc fees I can expect?
I am looking to transfer my plates
Thank you

New York may have an EV impact fee to cover loss of fuel tax. Be careful with Rivian doing the registration. I had a tag to transfer, but they got me a new tag which cost me an extra $85.

Agreed on the $250 and $1500. Make sure if you are transferring tags the Rivian will be titled identically the the existing vehicle. I questioned a $55 charge and was told it was because it was being titled including my name and my wife’s so we needed new tags. We dropped me and the charge disappeared.

I have mostly good things to say about Rivian, but I found the use of legacy add on fees to be extremely disappointing. With direct marketing / sales they had the opportunity to make the process transparent, but they opted not to go that route. Why not an out the door price + local and state taxes.
