Rivian removable speaker - best look at the removable Bluetooth speaker

honestly, i think that development money could have been spent elsewhere, or reduced the price of the vehicle. most of us have our favorite bluetooth speakers. all they would need to do is allow pairing

That speaker probably doesn't cost more than $50 for Rivian to produce. (just a WAG). They couldn't lower the price of the vehicle in any appreciable way by removing it.

Also, this is a lifestyle vehicle and they need to have some quirks and differentiators. Personally, I think the branded bluetooth speaker is cool -- especially if it ends up sounding good, having decent battery life, and is waterproof (or at least water resistant).

If you're concerned about optimizing out all unnecessary cost, I hear Toyota still sells the Carolla.

I just leased one of those for our nanny! And indeed, optimizing for cost was my overwhelming concern. Still a good car. But for my use, it's gonna be an R1S.
