Rivian Touch Up Pen or Third Party OEM matching Paint?

Has anyone tried the Rivian Pen on a small chip? I'm wondering if it actually works.

Used it, worked well about 2 years back. There are some techniques for best results. Checkout YT.

It's not a fair color comparison if you just used the paint pen but didn't put a top coat to match the factory paint.

Yep it was a quickie just to get some paint on it and yes you’ll have to do extra work if you want an exact match

I try to keep it clean but dent/scratch free is a loosing battle

Totally. I've got some chips and scratches! I just wanted to clarify that Rivian touch up paint may still provide a good color match if properly prepped.

I've spent the weekend deleting the front license plate, stock spoiler, and rear wiper/washer from my Rx7. Also fixing a gouge in my wife's Cx5 (extra challenging since it's soul red crystal). It's a lot of time and work and patience to keep paint near perfection. I'm glad I bought the Rivian with 8k miles so that i wasn't a bothered by daily driving blemishes.

Look at Dr Color Chip. I've used their products on several vehicles including my Rivian. With their system you rub with a solution after applying their paint which levels the repair to the point you can't tell the paint was touched up. I've used their silver matching my Rivian and they have a black for the trim paint. I'll never go back to the touchup pens.
