As a side note. R2 uses zonal wifi architecture and not CAN bus architecture as published by Rivian.

You have anything on this? Wireless comms is pretty wild in such a high RF environment. R1 Gen2 uses ethernet AFAIK (with CANBUS frames sent over that in a few places) - but wifi blows my mind.

As a side note. R2 uses zonal wifi architecture and not CAN bus architecture as published by Rivian. While Rivian SW is much better than the legacy automakers, it sill trails Tesla by wide margin. I own both and much prefer the Tesla SW over Rivian's. I know others will disagree so I am just stating my preference and not absolute comparison.

I don't think this is correct? They designed and used ZONAL WIRING architecture, via seven ECU's all networked together (wired) vs the 17 in R1 - it's one of the ways' they greatly reduced the miles of wiring in R2. I believe it's true they do not use traditional CANBUS... but I understood that they were using some new wired connection for diagnostics etc.

I really like what Scout (VW) is doing and hope to see it come to market...

EVs have already changed the weather and are only going to do so even more...ICE vehicles contributed significantly to climate change.

Although that connection was widely debated in the 1980s and 1990s, it is no longer seriously disputed within climate science.

EVs are not impact-free, but their long-term benefits are substantial—both locally and globally. Electrification eliminates tailpipe emissions, reduces nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and smog-forming pollution, improves public health near highways, ports, schools, and freight corridors, lowers urban noise, and reduces petroleum consumption. The benefits are especially significant when high-mileage diesel buses, trucks, delivery vehicles, and port equipment are replaced. As electrical grids continue to become cleaner, the climate and public-health advantages of EVs should grow even further.
