Rumor of new battery size: Large+

Visiting an old thread - I am looking at buying an R1S and am now seeing used 2025 Large+ cars. It is kind of annoying (IMO) there's no clear path to pay-to-unlock to a Max. Some of these used cars will be a very good value if that option does appear.

Theoretically, yes it could be done. They are planning on doing something similar for dual motor owners who want to purchase dual performance.

That said, Large + was produced for such a short amount of time with relatively few units shipped, that it very well could not be worth their time/money to develop the software mechanism and do the business paperwork to make this purchase happen. The only way I could see them doing that is if they are able to share the resources (software development time and paperwork for accepting payment ) with the performance upgrade.

But no guarantee that the work going into making an upgrade path for the performance is cross-compatible with battery upgrades
