Is that a pretty flat drive with warm temps? Our Montana adventure took us through a lot of passes and had surprisingly cool nights in the low 50s then real hot days in the high 90s (BMS power use?), which I blame both for lower efficiency. But still an improvement over previous trips on ATs.
From LA to Zion it’s quite a bit of some up hill especially to Las Vegas. And it was hot!!!! Like 100+!! In Barstow it was 110 and in Mesquite it was 120 while we charged.

Any concerns with possible issues down the road with these? I have 20 darks as well and unsure if these will have issues down the line or will work perfectly.
What is your concern about the 20” darks specifically?

I meant with adding the 275/60/20 tire to it and most shops not wanting to install it due to the specs
Oh got it! I was worried you meant the wheel lol.

confirmed my order yesterday. went with the 20" AT thanks to OP and everyone on here. I actually like the look of these wheels compared to the 21". Less flowery. Not sure if I will run down the ATs and then switch to AS or do it as soon as I get my hands on the R1. My off roading is limited to malls. I've been using the same Discount Tire place for ages and they will not put on anything less that 116. That is a minor concern of mine at this point.

How many miles should I expect out of the ATs that come with the order?

Tell them to look at the 22" stock tire load index. Their system shows 115, and Rivian did a run with 115. Can't have it both ways. I wish I pushed back on my store but didn't know this at the time.

I got 30k with 5 tire rotation, feel like I could've got 35k

Thank you for that insight. I will talk to DT again. This location is a bit unique as they do a lot of "exotic" cars and they really understand unique cars. 35k!! That will take me at least 2 years. I will have to switch out the tyres as soon as I get it then. Cheers.

Another benefit of going the 275/60R20 route is Hankook has a winter tire that's a 116 that's relatively light as well.

We have an R1S on 22s. I plan on doing with a set of winter 20s and potentially just go to 20s full time on it for range with AS 275/60R20 tires.

Has anyone else with these tires experienced a droning noise at 40-50mph? I only recently noticed it, having started a road trip with higher speeds shortly after getting the tires. I've ruled out the aero inserts.

I can happily report the AS+3 earns an A+ for road trips with the R1T. Our average consumption was 2.29 mi/kWh, compared to 2.16 back in June on ATs, with very similar conditions, a 6.2% improvement! This is after correcting for reefer, electric blanket, outlet use, and mileage error from diameter change. We went with soft ride over stiff this time with the smaller diameter, but maintained conserve and low most places over 50mph, and never bottomed out.

After 2k miles, the front tires are at 10.5/32 (started at 11/32) and rear have no change at 11/32. I highly recommend the swap!

What Psi are you running on your 20’s with AS tires?
