Sorry to hear the frustration from folks. I got this email this afternoon and there were plenty of spots open starting this Wednesday, Nov 12, and going through the next few weeks. We managed to lock in a test drive from 8am to 845am on Wednesday. They are apparently coming to our house in Seattle to pick us up, so it doesn’t sound like it will be the same as the Sonoma event. Will report back with photos and a report. We still haven’t even heard from our guide yet so very excited to actually get behind the wheel!!

I've been a Rivian optimist and patiently waiting since 12/7/18. ...
I pre-ordered 12/4/2018 and NO INVITE for me yet either.

Did you all sign up on the website to be notified when First Mile events showed up in PNW? Clearly all of us pre order holders should have been added to that list, but a couple weeks ago I did explicitly sign up to be notified of test drive and first mile events. This was an option I stumbled on when looking at my LE configuration on the website. I don’t know if I just got lucky but that might
explain why you didn’t get the Email invite.

That's because you're in a different State. ?

Tangent: I got they're probably choosing to do these 30 minute first drive events in areas where they don't have a track readily available, but personally I'd be better served having several trucks lined up in the service center parking lot and available to interact with the interior. I'm sure they drive great. I don't need to do a 0 to 60. I need to see the different colors and would like to play around with the UI and truck without feeling g rushed yiukno, like the first mile events. 30 minutes (that's how long they are right?) seems like and extremely short amount of time to say "hi, let's go for a ride and tell me everything about the vehicle""

Yes. I'm just assuming I won't get one until later (if any all) because I don't have a launch edition pre-ordered.

I'd suggest meeting them somewhere other than at your house. Don't waste your 30 minutes in the truck driving through the middle of Seattle.

This... driving anywhere within a 30m radius of my house is pretty miserable. If I can figure out how to finagle my way into a test drive this round, I would want to meet and head east into the Cascades (HWY 2, 90).

HEY!!!! Not me!! I'm more of a W. WA "type" than E. WA. :p We have two WA addresses, one on each side (Ritzville & Kirkland). ;) You might call it duel citizenship.

Sure did! I'm a Dec2018 pre-order holder and no emails. I even signed up for events with my work zip code in downtown Seattle, no email. What gives?!

I chatted with CS about this and this was the response:

Mobile Drives are soon to come in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and more! There were an initial outbound of invites yesterday and will continue to be more invites that go out dependent on availability. Be sure to keep an eye on your inbox as more invites will continue going out

I got an email 30 minutes ago about the Seattle First Mile Event, clicked on it to register, but it is now full. I've been a Rivian optimist and patiently waiting since 12/7/18. This sucks! Just reached out to my guide, and to CS, and we'll see what comes of it. I've been able to stay above some of the background noise lately, but this one bites. Not happy right now...

Hopefully some of you in WA were checking your email and were able to register...
Yet another example of how messed up Rivian's MARCOM strategy is! I'm a confirmed early reservation holder (every time I chat with CS they comment on how really freaking early I am!) and by the time I opened up the email the event was full.

It's absolutely crazy that Rivian wouldn't have reached out to deposit holders first to invite them prior to opening up the invitation to anyone on the subscription list...? Or, are there just that many reservation holders in the Seattle area - in which case they seriously under-planned the size of this first mile event?

In either case, I chalk this up as an epic failure. After three years of waiting with one delay and disappointment after another, you would think that they would want to do anything they could to please those of us still hanging on out here and soften the yet-to-come blows of more delays our eventual guide calls will inform us of...

This is definitely limited to deposit holders, and I suspect early LE holders at the moment. (If not for the forum, I wouldn't know it exists). I suspect they'll open up more slots and you'll get in.
