Seattle to Houston, only one charger out!

I just completed a cross country trip from Seattle to Houston, pretty much direct as the crow flies, with a small detour in Arizona to enjoy Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Plotting the route and charging options was a combination of the on board Rivian map, plugshare, google maps and ABRP. Sounds like a lot of cross checking - but they will each pick their own route, and change it constantly, unless directed otherwise. So its wise to cross check and build in back-up options in case you get to a charging location and its dead. That is a real risk out west, where any infrastructure, for EVs for otherwise, is pretty sparse. I would plan overnight stops at locations where I could get a full charge, or could get one within about 50 miles the next morning. Once on the move, I would drive down to about 70 miles of range, with a secondary charging location identified as back up. That only came into play once when we hit Pecos, TX. The Electrify America site was completely down. To their credit EA offered me a free re-fill at the next location on my route, which was about 50 miles down the road at Fort Stockton, TX. Thnx EA! We hauled azz across the country, doing about 700 miles per day at the speed limit on cruise control in all purpose mode. I have 15K on the odometer and have rotated the tires once, they still have plenty life in them. Overall the RIS performed great.
