Hi Rivian Community,
I represent the product team at LAMTTO.
We are huge fans of the R1T and R1S, and we know that Gear Guard is one of the coolest features out there. Gary (Gear Guard mascot) is iconic.
However, we've been lurking on the forums and noticed a few common discussions:
Phantom Drain: Keeping Gear Guard on 24/7 can eat into range during long-term parking (airport runs, etc.).
Data Safety: If a smash-and-grabber knows what they are doing, they might take the storage drive along with your valuables.
So, we developed a 4G LTE Dashcam (Model DC22) that we think could be the perfect "Companion" to Gear Guard, not a replacement.

Why we think it fits the Rivian lifestyle:
True Cloud Backup: If your truck is broken into, the footage is instantly uploaded to the cloud via 4G. Even if they steal the camera, you have the evidence on your phone.
Low Power Consumption: It connects via OBD-II (or hardwire kit), consuming significantly less power than waking up the truck's main computer for Gear Guard.
Live Streaming: Access live footage anytime via the UBoxPro app without waiting for the vehicle to wake up.
Question for Rivian owners: Do you feel the need for a "backup" security camera that saves to the cloud? Or is Gear Guard enough for your peace of mind?
We are looking for a few tech-savvy owners to test this out and let us know how it interferes (or doesn't interfere) with the Rivian electronics.

Thanks for letting us join the conversation!
By the way, it's currently Black Friday sale time, so don't hesitate, take action now!
