Oof.

I had my Model S for a bit over a year before it made it's way back to Tesla. Each time I dropped it off for service they had it for multiple days - sometimes two, one time over 20. They were always pleasant though, and I got a loaner every single time.

This was pre Model 3 & Y though. Hopefully they have the same loaner SOP.
Sorry no loaners for me even for warranty work now. We used to get one before the 3 came along. Uber credits only during a pandemic! They make you wait outside in the cold and rain for 30 minutes at every pickup due to COVID. I learned the hard way you need to call and pretend you are there while you are on the way.

After the Model 3 came out, things fell apart. Appointments are still very hard to come by. Parts take forever to get resulting in multiple trips to get a single repair completed. You can't call anyone to find out the status of your missing parts. Sales staff is very snarky to the folks trying to get their car fixed. I don't think they even look at your car unless it has been on the lot at least 24 hours resulting in multi-day drop offs.
This is why I am not excited at the prospect of Rivian releasing an "affordable" vehicle, any time soon. Eventually, maybe... But they need to build their infrastructure up to support that prospect, first.

My wife and I test drove a Model Y, recently, and Tesla has been awful to deal with. Some staff have been nice, and others have been extremely rude -- one even texted me and tried to strong arm me by saying I either buy from them within 5 days or they will refuse to sell to me for a couple months. WTF?

I'd rather Rivian focus on a great product and experience, and get those nailed before they expand. Don't risk existing customers to bring new ones in, either.
