It absolutely does, or should. There is a small side road I drive down frequently. This road parallels a state highway that has a speed limit of 50mph at the point the two parallel. The posted, and mapped, speed limit on the side road is only 35mph. My in-vehicle navigation tells me the limit is 35mph for the entirety of the road, except for the portion after I pass this sign:

As you can see, the speed limit is on the left, and clearly not intended for the road in question. Yet my truck reads this sign and the in-vehicle nav tells me the limit is 50mph. This change happens within a few feet of the above sign every single time I pass it. The only exception to this behavior was when the sign detection was turned off for a few updates few updates (2023.34 and 2023.38). Since it was restored in 2023.42, it has reverted to telling me it is 50mph there.
Well the street by me has multiple 30 mph signs but my truck has always said it’s 35. Never has changed in a year.

and it has never changed to the correct speed in construction zones. So I don’t think it’s reading anything. Just going by the database.
