I had the opportunity to review this Chevy Silverado EV work truck and spend even more time with it. I have a road trip video coming soon. I also hope to test out the RST and LT models soon. This is an important truck for the EV industry. Range Estimate 450 miles!

Too many
I had a 2025 Silverado work EV for a week just recently (Rivian fixed my truck and it was the rental I picked from their lot).

The thing was a boat. I felt like Uncle Buck in his big ass caddy. But it drove like a tank. An Abrams tank. It was a beast and kinda fun because of that. For reference, fun is a primary reason I love my old Y and now my R1T.

At any rate, if I needed a jobsite vehicle to carry building materials, 5 big asses and whatever else I wanted I the Silverado EV would definitely be on my short list.

Mine showed 394 miles of range when I topped of the charge. I only did that one time and turned it back in with 48 miles of range left. Sorry I didn't see the % remaining. Anyway, I estimate I got 75% or more of the posted mileage with about 80% of it being freeway. I drove it hard across the SoCal battlefield looking for enemy tanks. Never saw any though.

A few items: it was stout. I was never worried about anything being fragile and breaking. It felt like an old traditional heavy duty American made truck inside and out. The interior was rugged and will definitely take a beating. No offense To my R1T, but he's a bit more sensitive...

The frunk was like the back of an SUV. Not size wise, but because your stash of cement and bricks will slide in and out very easily. Good and potentially bad.

The huge crew cab has wings flaring off the back that make it harder to reach into the front corners of the bed from the sides. Definitely didn't like that for when I actually hauled some material and couldn't reach all of it. I would have been able to in my Rivian or another normal truck bed. (I'm 6/4 by the way.)

Again, I liked it and would definitely consider it if I needed a rugged jobsite beast. Looking forward to reading your review.

Probably the least efficient EV ever, other than its ugly pig sister, the EV Hummer.

Ridiculous old-think design everywhere.

Is that 1990s looking screen actually as small as it seems in the video?

The high charge rate is eaten up by the ridiculous battery to make up for being inefficient.

9000 pound lead boat with shit suspension.

Great range though. Because of the extra 2k pounds of battery.

I believe it’s rated at 63 MPGe combined. Not bad for a full size pickup. Driving. It reasonably should result in 2.0 miles per kWh. The hummer is a cool vehicle but the least efficient AFAIK
