We have waited for an R1S for almost two years. Originally we ordered an el cap with ccean coast on 21s. But after seeing a growing number of Rivians in the wild , we changed to Limestone. Our order window was July-September, which narrowed to Aug-Sep after our color change at the end of Q1. Being that it is now August and we have no guide, I opened a chat Monday and asked for an update. They offered none but asked if we wanted access to the R1 shop. I said yes and found a shop full of every T configuration you could imagine the following day. Yet only four S configs. Only the yellow S had ocean coast and the rest were forest edge. Zero offered the free wheels, which makes sense I suppose for RIVN profit margins. I love the yellow but it's no bueno for resale.
A couple S options changed later in the week, including another yellow added and a black. Then Friday night all the S models disappeared. I assumed there would be no more updates over the weekend. I was a little sad, but boy was I wrong. Woke up this morning and checked the shop to find two limestone configs sitting there. One had an underbody shield and one didn't. Both had the black 20s. So I pulled the trigger!
Hopefully that helps some of you in the same boat and those wondering what exactly goes on in the R1 shop.
