Getting ready for the weekend I decided to see what I could get into the gear tunnel. I ended up with:

- Traction boards
- 2 Splitboards
- 2 Resort boards
- 1 Pair resort boots
- 1 Pair backcountry boots

Not a bad use of space, i’ll be ready for whatever the mountains throw at me this weekend. Hope to hit up the Madras and Crescent RAN stations while their still free :)

14 degrees in Madras, charger is working but only at 100kW so far (29% SOC).

Edit: Tried a different stall and same 100kW peak.

Love the gear tunnel for our snowboards! So convenient!

Curious did it ever increase? I had a couple of charges on my trip where it was cold (low 20s) and it started out slow but did ramp up after 7 or 8 minutes.

Not really, at around 68% SOC it creeped up to 110kW for a few minutes before it started ramping back down due to the normal charging curve.

Maybe if I would have stayed at the same station it would have ramped up quicker. It seemed very specific that both chargers I tried were maxing out at 100kW and I wouldn’t have expected my battery to be terribly cold considering I had just crossed over Mt Hood and navigated to the charger (though I didn’t see and preconditioning so I assume it wasn’t needed).

Absolutely. My boards are the following for reference:

165W Jones Ultra Solution Splitboard
163 Never Summer Swift Splitboard
163 Nitro Squash
159W Jones Mountain Twin

The longer ones may bend a small amount with it shut but not in any significant way.

Perhaps off-topic, but how is a split board (backcountry) boot different? Does it have toe bindings like backcountry skis?

They have a walk mode and a heel welt to accomodate a semi-auto cramp-on.

Thanks man! When I saw the gear tunnel for the first time, snowboards were the first thing I thought of!

Hit up the charger in Crescent OR today. Briefly this morning on our way out but the truck was cold soaked in single digit temps all night and didn’t want to charge above 26kW we didn’t need much of a charge so headed off to Mt Thielsen for a ski adventure. Arrived back this afternoon with 20 miles to spare and I saw a peak of 217kW but I did get too unplug and try again errors so switched to a different stall To finish up.
