So, my R1T which is 7m old with under 12k miles started acting up about 2w ago. The symptoms are:

1. error message stating that the right gear tunnel was open. The button to open the gear tunnel on the right side would not work, I had to reach in and push the emergency release to open the gear tunnel door, then close it, which caused the error message to go away. This occurred 4 more times this past week, which allowed me to observe some of more symptoms
2. I noticed, while parked in my garage, the the blind spot indicator on the right rear view mirror was blinking off and on for a few minutes while in park. And that the auto dimming was dimming the rear view mirror for no reason. The next morning, the passenger rear view mirror burned out...I've posted this problem
3. I noticed while parked in my garage, the Rivian image projector on the passenger side mirror was blinking on and off. I checked the driver side, which was off. Now the projector doesn't work at all
4. I noticed that the door handles on the right side, front and rear doesn't work when I get the gear tunnel error. I pulled on it, it would not open the door. When I reset the gear tunnel door, the door handles work again. The inside door handles worked fine during these episodes.

I got an appointment at the Colorado Springs Service Center with Brandon today. Very nice guy btw. I got a R1S with 160 miles as a loaner. This gave me an opportunity to compare my R1T's minor issues to see if I'm being too picky or not. The issue I noticed were wind noise, and hood flutter.

1. My truck has significant wind noise around the A pillars. I don't think it's from the small triangle windows. Before I turned my truck in for service, I looked at the seal around the windshield. It's definitely different from the loaner. My truck has a 1/2 inch gap from the windshield to the pillar on both sides. I wish I took some pictures. On the loaner, there was a much narrower gap, closer to 1/4 inch. I noticed the seal around my windshield was also set incorrectly. There's an area where it dipped a good 1/2 inch. The loaner has much, much less wind noise. So I wasn't being too picky at all. I notified Brandon of the problem and hopefully get it fixed.

2. The hood on the loaner is rock solid. Mine flutters at high way speed. Definitely not my imagination. I hoped to get this fixed as well.

Both cars had minor weird rattles here and there.

I'll keep everyone posted to see how the service goes.

The two 12V batteries control accessories on different sides of the truck, so if you're seeing weird electrical issues with one side only it seems like a 12V battery issue.
My thoughts too. OP if you have a chance ask Brandon what his thoughts are on the Ohmmu 12v replacements

Please don't. Bad advice. Get the vehicle fixed so it maintains the 12V properly. If indeed the 12V system is the problem (that's not been established yet) then it's not a bad battery, it's a failure of the vehicle to maintain the charge properly. Changing to a different chemistry can only cause problems which won't be fixable under warranty. And Ohmmu's not going to pick up the tab if your vehicle bricks itself in the future.

The only thing that I recall. doing differently was that the day before the first event, I decided to charge the vehicle up to 90% in anticipation of a long drive. I've only charged it up to 80% previously.

In regards the the wind noise, the loaner is remarkably quieter. At 75mph I normally listen to my audiobook at 17-18 volume level with my truck....in the loaner I can listen clearly at level 10-11 !

What is the VIN of your loaner?

I realized that the two cars have different sound systems, I have the original, the loaner has the new one...with possibly different sound calibration. But the point remains, it's so much quieter without the wind noise.

Correct. Same thing happened to me on my model s. Car was going flat and only would open if you jumped it. Had to get it towed to service and have the lead acid battery put back. Ohmmu wouldn't give a dime.

I would ask them nicely if they could update your vehicle to the newer single battery architecture.

Can't hurt to ask...
