Can anyone on a late night drive confirm if we are now able to switch drive modes without it automatically switching heights?

I fairly often will be driving in standard height AP and want to switch to an off road or conserve (remaining in standard height) and it either won't let me go off road until I slow down or immediately starts dropping to a lower ride height in conserve.

Hoping for a button that says "override height change-stay in current" or thereabouts.

@Killectra perhaps your ride is over 40mph?
I don’t think so. Just tried it in the driveway and going to the off road menu started to put the truck in “highest”. I don’t like this behavior either, at least go to “high” instead.

Sigh. I had low hopes but that's still too bad. All last week I meant to start a poll seeing which way people thought that would work (and a "that happens?" option) with the hope it would raise some awareness to fix that or give us the option at least.

Thanks for checking!

So I believe this is the way it was before, but never tested explicitly to confirm. Each drive mode saves the last height you were at, I don’t know if it resets at park, or sleep, or never. But if you left, let’s say Off-Road Rally at Standard to go to On-Road All Purpose. The next time you entered Off-Road mode, it will default to Rally Standard height. This goes for any combination even when staying within say On-Road options.

With that out of the way, tonight, keeping that concept in mind, I swapped between All Purpose, Conserve, All Terrain, Rally and Drift at freeway speeds (68-71 MPH) with no issues, all stayed at pre-chosen Standard ride height. There is still the normal are you sure you’re off road and are you sure you want to turn off stability. Oh keep in mind with the above stated, that if say Conserve is set to Auto height, my assumption is that if you leave Conserve and it has automatically put you in say Lowest, it probably will remember that position the next time you enter that mode.

Also, I just tested this in my drive way to confirm. All stayed in Standard while parked. @Marchin_MTB

I too dislike this behavior. Especially considering there is an extra pop-up that has to be answered every time you enter off-road mode. You hit okay and it still says "sorry, I can't do that". Really surprised they haven't done something about this yet.

Question about Halloween mode last year. For the interior lights turning red did this help with not affecting night vision as much? I was thinking the vehicle should be doing this if you are in camp mode so you can turn on the lights without them being blinding! Just as you have red headlamps!!

I’m surprised Costco doesn’t skip over Halloween and go straight for Christmas by mid-summer.
My Costco had a full Christmas isle by August and I couldn't even find the Halloween stuff yet!

Mine allows me to change all the time as it remembers the ride height.

Red absolutely did help! I replaced one of my map lights in my previous vehicle and loved it. I was really excited last year when they went red!

Yes, that's the trade off I think they went with which I understand is probably helpful to most. What I'm looking for is still the remember the last option but with a "click to override/confirm height change" notification instead of just a "sorry can't do that" notification.
If I'm in Standard AP and last used Low Conserve it starts dropping as soon as I click conserve but sometimes I want to stay in Standard. That's workable.
The one that really gets me is the "reduce speed to change mode" when I want to maintain speed and ride height but the remembered ride height is different than current. Ie AP Standard to Rally Standard but when Rally used to be in Low.

You'd think this is the type of thing that would have annoyed initial test drivers enough to get it worked out. Still an amazing truck, but a roadblock that seems easy enough to remove.

I think it would be appropriate to still change modes but chime and display that the ride height has been reset if it's at a speed that isn't supported. I try to remember to flip my rally mode back to standard before switching away, but I still regularly forget. Why can't I go into rally high above 38 mph if I am allowed to have rally high at any speed once it is in rally mode?

I'm onboard with that solution. Also thanks for letting me know it's 38. I usually give up trying to change around 44

Hmmm. I’m going to have to play around with this later, thanks for the report.

Starting to wonder if I need to call support to get the update pushed. I'm still on 2023.30.0
