….great looking truck. I was seriously considering a Gen1T to Gen2S upgrade over the summer and built this exact truck, minus the black wheels (easy change) several times—so this is rather tempting (I’m also in DFW). My plan was to lease to take advantage of all the incentives ($16,500 in aggregate) and then immediately buy-out the lease but was foiled when I learned that I would have to pay sales tax for a second time thus negating a significant chuck of the cost-benefit. Have you investigated this at all? Is there a way for you to buy it out such that the next owner could/would avoid having to pay sales tax a third time on this less-than-one-year-young vehicle? Just trying to get a better handle on the economics…. Thanks!
Buying out the lease shouldn't be an issue. We did it in February to take advantage of the $7,500 tax credit. We bought out the lease within five days of taking delivery.
