BTW, am I the only one who accounts for this when setting cruise control? If I want to drive the speed limit (I always do :rolleyes:) and it's posted at 75mph, I set my cruise control at 76mph...

Please tell me that I'm not the only crazy dude who does that. :)
I adjust, but not in the manner you do. If the speed limit is 70, I know I can usually go 75-6 w/o fear of getting pulled over, so I'll set it for 78 (knowing it's 2-3 MPH off).

I do make some adjustments in my calculation, so for 55, I'll set if for 62, but if I'm down to 45, I'll set for 50.

If you go exactly the speed limit in the Northern VA/DC metro area, you'll likely get run off the road.

Can't, mine won't let me go above 85 mph.

And this is the difference between consumer-grade and military-grade GPS. Clear sky vs all-conditions.

A couple of mph off isn't a big deal, especially once you are aware of the deviation. Arguing against a police officer, in court, of his laser gun's reading is rarely successful anyway. ;)
The real difference is precision, not accuracy. C/A code is 1/10th the frequency of P(Y) code (1.023MHz vs. 10.23MHz). All GPS signals come from the same crystal time source and are sent from the same satellites, so there is VERY little difference in their acquisition capabilities other than the speed of acquisition and the specific hardware used to acquire the signal.

Check to see which wheels/tires you have selected in your vehicle settings. I picked up my brand new R1S and it has the 22' sport dark, but the 20" all terrain wheels were selected in the settings. This may account for the discrepancy.
