2024 Rivian R1T - Dual Motor - Standard +

Hi Everyone, I have been reading and enjoying the Rivian forums for months now. This is my first post and wanted to share my experience as I am close to taking delivery of my new R1T.

April 7th, I placed a deposit on a 2024 R1T from inventory:
Dual motor, standard + pack, LA silver w/ Black Mountain Dark Ash, 21” wheels, and powered tonneau.

Within a day or two I had a guide and VIN assigned. There was some back and forth with sales, as I was considering changing to a 2023. Ultimately I stuck with my original spec, competed all of the signing of docs, and gave a payment.

On April 16, I was provided a delivery date of May 10th to pick up at the Sacramento service center. I live in Folsom, a suburb of Sacramento.

I was a bit surprised to get a delivery date so soon as I kept reading that Standard + batteries would not start delivery until this summer. Either way, I am very excited to be a part of this community and to get some andventures started with this truck!

Here is my deal:
$73,500 sticker price
3 year lease/10k miles per year
$0 down
$813 per month payment
$3631 out of pocket + $1000 deposit
Money Factor: 0.00173
Residual value: $46,686.00

I plan to post more about my experience with the standard + battery. I just ordered the center caps for the 21” wheels so I can remove the aero covers asap.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Very useful info @-0—poody—0- , thanks. The only missing piece is the capitalized cost. The implied interest rate given the money factor is something like 4.15% (I think.) That's a very attractive rate!

Best of luck with the new Rivian.

Curious why you leased the dual standard + versus the quad large? Plan to purchase at the end? The lease cost per month is similar.

I wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible. Going with quad and/or large battery was going to significantly increase the amount of money out of pocket, as well as the monthly payment. I looked into some 2023 options and they were outside of my target price point. Not sure if I will purchase at the end, but a definite possibility. I was pulled toward the dual motor over quad due to the advantages of efficiency, drivability, etc. DM also better suited to the way I felt I would use the truck.

I picked up my DM, with the standard+ on March 29. It’s been great so far. My powered tonneau wasn’t available upon delivery, maybe you’ll have more luck.

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your tonneau. Did you get it installed yet? They have not mentioned anything to me yet about it. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

What is your impression of the Standard+ so far?

I didn’t know that my cover wouldn’t be on there until I picked it up. No install date yet. Battery seems to charge quickly and paired with the dual motor is pretty efficient and gets solid range.

Delivery update:

I took delivery of my R1T from the Sacramento service center yesterday.

First of all, the customer service was excellent. I received a phone call from my delivery specialist the day before and was able to sign all of the docs electronically the day before I got there on my previously scheduled time. This was the same date/time I set weeks ago. They were extremely apologetic and grateful to us, as customers, during the transition away from “guides” to the service center.

At delivery, the truck was a little dirty, no big deal, but had the appearance of being transported or had been sitting in a dirt lot for some time . Would have expected it a little more detailed and cleaner on the exterior.

I ordered truck from the shop inventory with a powered tonneau, but it was NOT there at delivery. I was told this on the phone the day before delivery There is a due bill to have that installed later this summer, according to the delivery guy.

Everything else looked great except for the drivers site gear tunnel door, which had some bad gaps and PPF that was peeling from on edge, where it was already gathering dirt under that edge. They created a due bill to have that corrected at delivery.

Overall my first impressions of the truck are all favorable. “Gas” pedal takes some effort to get the truck going and the regen is quite powerful, even at standard setting. This will take some getting used to, even after owning other electric vehicles. Steering is nice and easy, very responsive and nimble for a vehicle this size. Interior fit and finish is incredible.

First thing I did when I got home , after a good wash, was to remove the aero covers from the 21” wheels and replaced them with the Abstract Ocean center caps! We are looking forward to a road trip from Sacramento down to Newport in a month. I will report back more after that.

Love this truck and the Rivian company. Cant wait for some other adventures to come in the future. The kids are so excited with having a truck and all of the cool features.
