Time from guide contact to delivery?

I am wondering what people's delivery timing experience is from guide contact, to VIN assignment, to delivery?

I had my guide (Kendrick) contact on 3/23. He informed me that if I switched from OC to BM I would take delivery in two weeks which I graciously accepted due to my horrible impatience. Not to mention the fact that I'm going to shuttling three young kids around so I was on the fence with a light interior anyway.

Since then I haven't had any further movement, except for the fact that I finally convinced CS to schedule me a first drive later this week. So that will either hold me over or more likely further shorten my fingernails.

So for anyone that has taken delivery what was your timeline like?

For me it was 16 days..

3/10 - First phone call with my guide to confirm configuration. I was on the fence on the offroad package so she gave me a couple days to mull it over
3/15 - I confirmed I would accept the car they had available
3/18 - I started the 8 steps (they had actually came a day or two earlier but 3/18 is when I started on them)
3/21 - Got an email my R1T was ready for delivery, step 8 opened but did not work
3/23 - My guide manually scheduled delivery for Sat 3/26
3/24 and 3/25 - Franticly arranging my bank overnighting a check, sending my down payment, getting insurance to complete the 8 steps in time
3/26 - R1T in my driveway

I would reach out to your guide and follow up on the two week estimate you were given since that seems to be approaching.

Thanks for the reply.

I emailed my guide five days after our initial phone call which was 3/28 only because he told me I should be expecting the purchase agreement 48 to 72 hrs after my confirmation which came and passed.

This was his response:

"Good evening Kalorado,

I’m told the delivery timeline will be in the next few weeks. We’re still on track, things should progress forward in the coming weeks."

So now I'm anxiously twiddling my thumbs and obsessively logging in to my profile hoping to see something different.

I guess I was hoping/assuming they contacted me because they had a truck that matched my build which should be pretty common here in CO. LG 20 rims and off-road package.

My Guide reached out on 3/14. I confirmed my configuration and details; she told me to expect the preliminary agreement in the next few days. She did say "it's looking like April" for delivery.

I texted her on the 17th to let her know I hadn't seen it and she said "there's an issue in the system" and she'd look into it. I've politely followed up once a week since then and haven't heard anything. She didn't respond to my last request for a status update on the 25th, but did help me with an issue with my email address last week.

Just hurrying up and waiting now. Already missed a camping trip I really wanted to take it on.

My guide likes to selectively answer portions of questions as well which is very frustrating.

I'm sure this reflects them not having information or updates to share, and I'm sympathetic there. I'm trying not to hassle my guide for nothing and I'm sure "do you have an update?" gets old.

8 Steps: March 17, 2022
Purchase Agreement: March 24, 2022
Schedule Delivery Email: March 25, 2022
Pickup Confirmed: March 28, 2022
Delivery Day: March 31, 2022

I had a delay in the 8 step process while I was getting the taxes all corrected. My check was mailed on Thursday March 24th, 2022 but it missed the Friday arrival for a potential Saturday March 26, 2022 delivery. At that point, I scheduled the last day of March for my delivery day instead of possibly getting it earlier.

Did Rivian accept a personal check, or did you need to provide a Cashier's Check? I mean, heck, if it doesn't clear the bank, they can simply NOT deliver. Just wondered, since this is "a different kind of car company".
