20" Inch Tire Recommendations 20" Wheels

My stock Pirelli tires are finally on their way out at 20k miles.

I live in Denver and I don't hit the mountains particularly much so I'm not in need of a 2 tire solution (summer and winter tires that is).

The truck is basically my daily driver around the city. I'm not really into going off-road.

I'm looking for tires that won't crush range, are comfortable and quiet on the highway, won't make the truck too wallowy, and still have a beefy look like an AT tire.

Would love to hear what others have gone with..

I like the Rivian spec good year wrangler 275/60/20 you can find them on tire rack- there are AT look though… as for road tires people swear by the general grabber in the same size. This would bring the wheel diameter closer to the 21” road wheels (33” diameter) so you’d need to have the new software update to reconfigure your range and speed etcc if you have the 275/65/20 set up with AT.

FYI - they have the wrong tread depth on the DT site.

I am at 2100 miles and overall efficiency is up to 2.33 mpk. It should be better but preconditioning for a supercharging session tanked my overall efficiency by over 10% for the day of a long trip. I actually took the time to adjust my overall mpk and it wasn't for all the energy used preconditioning it wout actually be up to 2.34.

Sort of surprising to me how much it uses to precondition compared to my Teslas. Most of the miles have been colder weather. According to Electrafi the avg temp has been 41F since I've had them. Today started out low 40's and ended high 40's. Even with SC preconditioning, I was almost 2.5mpk for the day with a lot of highway running. It was about 65% interstate, 15% secondary roads and 20% stop and go. Factor in a few stoplight encounters with an occasional BMW, Raptor or Porsche. Almost all the interstate was in Conserve except for where I was trying to compared it with Sport. Near as I can tell, Sport at the speeds I was running is about an 8-10% hit on efficiency.

Still love these tires. They have been a great all-around tire. I know I've said this before, but how they looked on the truck wasn't one of my top priorities, neither was efficiency. They have massively surprised me in both these categories. I thought I'd take a significant hit compared to my 21's in efficiency. I'm not really seeing it. Once the temps get comparable to what I ran my 21st, these might even be more efficient. Right now I am 2% less efficient than my 21's but the average temps for those were much warmer.

As for looks, these absolutely look great on the truck. Before it really didn't matter that much, but now I'd be hard pressed to go to a more minivan-looking tire unless there was something incredible compelling about doing so. Noise levels are still great. No issues with vibes and I've been into triple digits with them more times than I have fingers and toes.

If I can get at least 25k out of these, I'll probably never change tires unless I could get a very sticky street tire for occasional use. So far no wear issues that I can see yet. I'll be checking them again for depth in about 800 miles unless I see evidence of some unusual wear.

These tires may not be the best choice for everyone, but I think many people would be pleased with them. The 2 areas I wouldn't buy them for are; heavy duty/serious offroading and on ice a lot.

I purchased the Michelin Defender Platinum after getting 32K with the stock Pirellis. Just did my first rotation with the Michelins, and so far so good. They are **much* quieter on the highways. Range is pretty much unchanged.
