I'd assume you'd lose 3/4" as stated in the specs as for how it works wouldn't really be different than any other truck. That part that would suck is the extended reach for the folding piece between the tailgate and bed that other trucks don't have.

I actually have been running TMAT in my 2026 R1T for ~6 months now. While it is relatively basic, it meets my needs - ability to organize/block various cargo with a ton of flexibility. I have a mat installed under it, so it actually can be pulled outward/pushed inward with relative ease as well. All in all, I can definitely recommend.

I will try and take some photos this weekend. She is currently extremely dirty - the black looks so amazing when clean/not covered in pollen…lol

I have been running the TMAT for a month and it's awesome. I don't use a mat under because I didn't want to lose even more clearance. The "reach" part isn't a problem because you can just grab the cut out handle and pull the whole mat towards you right up to the edge with ease. It would only be an issue with extremely heavy loads. Simple things like golf clubs, camping gear, Costco, etc. are so much easier now without the stretch. The whole unit is very light and can be taken out if you want to power spray, clean, etc.. I ordered straight from their website instead of Amazon because the kit they send is specfic to RIVIAN dimensions. The Amazon one is generic size and doesn't included all the same pieces. Best of luck

Some pictures would be great! Does it affect the ability to open the spare tire compartment?

Also, using discount code DONSLIFE will save you 10% off directly from their website.

Thank you @BMCORN! How much is the clearance you are losing in real (bed surface to top of mat)? I have a Dometic 35 refrigerator that I still want to use and slide out with the tonneau cover on.

I’m on vacation all week and my truck is actually at the RIVIAN service center, so I can’t get dimensions for you. However, like one of the other responses said, it’s probably less than an inch thick.

Yes I have their gear tunnel kitchen and love them! The trunk slider is $1700, 4X these mats. I know they are small business (been to their shop for fitting the kitchen) and we should support them (they are awesome) and other small businesses innovating on top of our beloved platforms...but the 4X cost differential is worth more investigation.

Hi! Happy to chime in here. It's an apples and oranges comparison between the two products. The TMAT is a great solution to organizing the truck bed. Ours is designed to work under much heavier loads (500 pounds though we've tested it to 1,000) whereas the TMAT becomes more difficult to pull out if there's too much weight. As mentioned, our is also hinged to maintain access to the spare tire and the 60/40 split gives you additional flexibility. Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

I just ordered through tmat.com. It’s a solution that would work for my needs. They have a Rivian specific kit and they said the spare wheel compartment can be opened with the tmat.

There is 16" of clearance left to the bottom of the tonneau cover.
