Just a little background place my order an R1S May 26, 2021, did 1st mile drive on April 5, 2023 in Atlanta, this morning, around 9;15 am receive a email from Rivian asking if my contact information was good, five minutes later, email saying my guide has been assigned and to Text her. Spoke with her to confirm my order at around 10:00 AM at 10:30 AM received a email saying my vin has been assigned. Turns out all this was done my match by automated system, my vin 96xx. Seven of the eight steps completed by 1:30 pm. Guide call me back at 2 PM. Told me vehicle was in normal. Illinois would be shipped to Atlanta ETA 3 to 4 weeks. My vehicle is limestone color, Forest, edge, interior, quad motor, 20 inch all-terrain. What a great day.

I am happy to hear this. That being said I thought Rivian was pausing deliveries to states without service centers?

I didn’t think that was a factor. I (And others) are the same distance or closer from Atlanta than that and in the ā€œprocessing estimateā€ purgatory. We got the email that many in NC and SC received:
ā€˜We’re writing to provide context on how regulatory restrictions in your state are impacting your Rivian delivery and why we are unable to provide you with a delivery window estimate at this time.

Current state-level dealer protection laws prohibit us from opening a RivianService Center in your state. Without an accessible Rivian Service Center, we are unable to provide you with the ownership experience you deserve and that we demand.

We are working with officials at various levels of your state government on changing these restrictions, but at this time we cannot provide timing on when we will be able to provide service operations near you.ā€

It’s just contradictory although it gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe we will also be receiving good news sooner than expected
