I don’t live in the city so don’t assume all of NY is the same. Also, ever state and city in the USA drives like shit. I have lived in more than 6 states across the USAA and have visited damn near every state so I have experienced my fair share of shitty drivers. Some idiots are just to horn happy just like internet trolls ?
From your signature, it looks like you have a '22 so almost certainly have the dual horn in yours, which I'm sure is plenty loud. I'd refrain from passing judgement on those of us who only have a single horn. I installed an aftermarket in mine after a near miss on the highway. Person was merging into me without looking over and I laid on the horn with no effect - they clearly didn't hear it and I was forced to take evasive action. While I'm always prepared to do that, I'd rather not have to, especially with an infant in the car, so an audible horn is very important to me from a safety perspective.

Something wrong with the picture... and you live in New York.
I too live in NY and my horn is mostly used to wave to fellow Rivian owners that I rarely see. My nightmare scenario is someone starting to back toward me and my wimpy horn isn’t going to stop it.

I can only imagine how pleasant NYC would be if everyone had the single R1 horn, just sirens and car alarms to disturb the peace.?

I’m done, my head now hurts.

You started the thread, the horn is embarrassing but you don’t care. At least make sure they fixed the phone charger in your new Rivian.
Yep. I don't care. I just wanted to bring up a part that desperately needs some attention. You see what I did, there?
In nearly 40 years of driving I've used my horn as intended exactly never. I did ruin the one in my grand national in 1997 when the Az wildcats won the ncaa basketball title. Apparently, they can't take several minutes of continuous honking.
Now that I'm aware of the whisper voice my truck has I shall not bother to exercise it again. I'll just throw my drink at my buddy the next time I see him in traffic.

I'm trading mine in for a 2025 quad. I have the money to cover the difference. I'll do 2 wildland deployments and work some overtime.
