Just to be clear-the "extra kids" are not yours but your kids friends? So, you're contemplating all this for your kids friends? If that's the case, it's very nice of you but I'd keep the R1T and get a R2.
Yup. Kids are always asking to go here or there but we only have room for 5 (including me). I think I will keep my T and get better tires

Thx for the info. I was thinking of changing to 20” road tires to get better efficiency
22” range will get best followed by 22” sports, 20” AS will get a bit lower and 20” AT will get lowest

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Thx. That is the hardest part. I think I want the truck. Especially if my wife gets a R2. So we can’t take extra kids with us. Who cares. We have 2 boys in lots of sports. It will just be the two of them. I am ok with that.
My breaking point: was in the S with my wife and we saw a blue T, she asked "do you miss your truck" and, without moving my head, simply said "yes I very much miss my truck"

Later that day, I ordered the G2 T.

Sounds like it's time to add a used minivan to the fleet!

No way. No how. R1T LE quad is vastly superior. And I’m not biased at all, i swear.

But seriously, I had an R1S G2 loaner for a couple days. And I couldn’t wait to get my truck back.

Wouldn’t a 20” range get better than the 22”? Lighter rims, less hard sidewalls? Maybe I wrong

Unfortunately not with the Rivian wheel/tire combos. Lots of threads on this and I am not an expert at all. The Goodyear AS/T 20” that come with the standard pack are from my own experience, the best of both worlds, but you will definitely get the best range with a 22” setup in the current lineup of wheel/tire combos that Rivian offers; obviously a different story with non-oem setups.

The worst thing is. I purchased new 22” tires in August. Did all the reviews and looked at the forum. I ended up getting continentals which are nice but are not as efficient as the Michelins. But they had a huge sale and I got them $400 cheaper and a $110 gift card (I use 5 tires for rotation). Shouldn’t have cheaper out as I do see my efficiency much worse than with the pirelli’s.
oh well. Will suck it up

I replaced my Gen1 R1S (Jan 23 build) for a Gen2 R1S. Thrilled I did this as it is much better. Long list here but it is noticeable.
