Triple AAA for Tire Change ?

Don’t flame me for not doing it myself. Not around and the car is home. Has anyone used triple a to change a flat tire? Have the full size spare. I called the local tire places and they wont touch a Rivian because they are too heavy for their lifts.

Why not use the actual rivian roadside assistance? Seems weird to have AAA when rivian has its own. Maybe I am missing something.

Any decent tire shop will just jack it up in the parking lot and change a tire. If they have ever changed a tire on a normal 2500/3500 truck they also have lifts that will handle the Rivian no problem.

Based on posts here it isn’t included for free, Rivian will just arrange for someone to come out that you then pay.

Long story, not so short. Roadside wasn’t an option as I was at home. Could I have driven down the street and told them that, I guess so but they said no on roadside. Firestone said they won’t touch rivians. I called mavis and they said they never heard of the truck and didn’t want to be involved. I changed the tire my self, and to my surprise the full size spare I bought wasn’t as full size as my 22s and now I have to wait until the tire is fixed to drive the truck. Annoying. Also the extra rods for the Jack kit weren’t included so a lot more annoying than it could have been.

Just to be the annoying one because I am genuinely curious, was the tire blown or could you not fill it with air and drive it to a tire place?

Firestone and Mavis wouldn’t change it. Said it was too heavy for their lifts and didn’t mess around with the jacks.

What do you mean the full size spare wasn’t full size. Is it not a Rivian spare?

So it was a full size spare, just slightly different than the tire my truck came with. it their new all terrain model that comes with the sport 22s. i didnt drive it far or fast, but you could tell it was a little wonky on turns. its what they have - so thats what i have. i guess when mine was delivered last march, the ones on the truck are standard, and these are now.

just my two cents, after changing the tire back on after getting it fixed. i am going to buy one of those jacks from the aftermarket companies. the three piece scissor jack is kinda scary when you know you have 8000 lbs on it.
