Unexpected monthly subscriptions for my new Rivian

1/ where can I find more information on each of these services?

2/ how well do they work with & without connect+? Do any of them take advantage of having that subscription and how do they do so?

3/ if they overlap in any functionality at all, is there a good comparison available across all of them?

I don't make one for Rivian Roamer. I ship features so fast that it would be more work to maintain. I have sent out a weekly customer update email every week for almost a year now.

Connect+ has no impact 3P services at all.

Although the camp speakers available with R1T’s and R1S’s would pair with third party Bluetooth devices and cell phones through Bluetooth the infotainment centers will only pair through cell phone Bluetooth. Third party non cell phone Bluetooth devices are not recognized. How Rivian accomplished this is beyond my pay grade but if anyone finds a way around this wall please share. As for the R2S’s I would be very surprised if they did not follow the same path. Rivian has announced the elimination of AM/FM radio on the R2S’s so the ability to receive actual “satellite” SXM radio through an FM adapter will no longer be possible. It will be a streaming service only.

Chad can provide specific responses to your questions, but I can provide a user's experience.

It is so much better than Teslafi/Electifi. I used that service prior to switching to RR. Teslafi is designed for Teslas, and so there are some weird quirks that don't translate well for Rivian owners. Chad designed RR specifically for Rivian, and the interface is so much cleaner and well organized.

Below is the dashboard from my truck. If you like to see things like charging curves, efficiency, etc. this is the best tool to use. IMO, of course.

Now some of you recommend playing the music stored on my phone via Bluetooth as an option. Is this working in tandem with the Rivian infotainment system? Meaning are the songs (title, author, album image) displayed on the infotainment screen, and can I control it from there (next song etc.)?

My context is from an R1, so I don't know if it's different in the R2.

The R1 bluetooth screen exists, but it's devoid of functionality. At least with an iPhone.

The screen will show a list of songs that bluetooth is currently accessing. If you last used your phone on "shuffle all", it will show a lit of all songs. If you were last listening to an album, it will show (and only play) that album. If you were last listening to a podcast, it will show and only play that podcast.

You can select different songs on the list, but there is no way to navigate to different artists/playlists, etc.

The audio quality over bluetooth is pretty bad too. Maybe they fixed this in the R2? It gets lots of static and cuts in and out. There's a number of threads with people smarter than me arguing about whether it's wifi interference or something else.

Alas! I discovered the fact that non-cell phone devices don’t pair during my demo drive. I included that issue in my “demo drive review“ elsewhere in the forum.

As someone who uses hearing aids, I really would like the car central system/Infotainment to pair with them.

Until that happens, I use the phone’s map/navigation app so that I can get the directions. It also makes the interior cabin less noisy for my passengers since the directions stream only to my hearing aids.

If anyone from Rivian reads these forum entries, I think this would be a great refinement and could possibly be accomplished through an OTA software.
