Just did this with USAA they asked to confirm that I had a recovery system like Onstar or Lojack. They agreed that the Rivian is a connected vehicle and are honoring the discount. ( no Idea how much it is saving me though)

Out of curiosity, how much are you or anybody on here paying for auto insurance on your Rivian?
My insurance company breaks down all kinds of discounts for my R1S, from multi-auto to restraint to recovery to safety, etc., but there is no discount amount attached to each.
Insurance depends on a lot of factors, but for the sake of the argument, annual insurance for my R1S comes in at $1,100, and that includes having overinsured coverage to the hilt on all aspects, and full glass replacement coverage, the latter with no deductible. From the shopping around I did out of curiosity, nobody can beat my insurance company, and it is a very top-rated one.

Gullible people who let car dealers charge them $800-2000 for this add-on. I bought my Rivian used from a regular car dealer and they wanted to sell me some security package for over $1k. I had to remove the stupid tracker. They are so cheap that they put them in ALL cars then deactivate it if you don't pay for it.

Unbelievable. Never mind one can track the vehicle location right from the app. No third-party add-ons needed. Buyer beware, I suppose.
Something I learned the hard way, though. And I bet it is the exact same case with my R1S. My Teslas constantly report location back to the app and to the mothership. Or so I thought!
In reality, Teslas and Rivians may provide real-time location when the vehicle is moving or where it was parked last. BUT, but, if the vehicles are not moving on their own, e.g., if put on a flat bed, you will never know where it is at. I myself have added to my vehicles the very cheap smart tag whose location is picked up by nearby cell phones and reported back to you. Problem solved.
