I honestly don't know how anyone can bring themselves to trust any vehicle to drive itself yet. While I understand that it's probably better than a lot of the drivers out there, it'll take me a long time to trust it! With the frequency my computer "hiccups"... umm, not for me just yet.

What use is the visualisation?

I've had it reveal people that I couldn't see in bad visibility conditions. Not people in the road itself, but people between parallel parked cars or on the shoulder of the road that I definitely needed to slow down for "just in case."

I wrote about my experience with the opposite - R1S thought a motorcycle was a car. Began to accelerate (ACC engaged) towards stopped traffic as the motorcycle was lane splitting.

I think these mistaken renderings are cute when you see them on the screen, but I agree 100% that these machines are nowhere close to driving for us.
