VW Scout SUV probably another 4 years away

VW is contracting Magna to develop their Scout brand SUV which probably means at least another 4 years at least until the first units roll out the door. It will be interesting to see the design concepts but really VW is very much behind in their EV strategy as the R2 will be out long before then.[/dofollow]

I don't know why you think its at least 4 yrs away (making it 2027+)

Magna Styer produces excellent vehicles with great quality. The VW group is struggling with several issues and by having Magna develop the vehicle is only going to help both companies.

The original target was and still is 2026. The same time R2s is supposedly coming too.

In 4 years im going to be in the market for a rugged 2 door EV. I think we might have a Bronco EV by then, too, but not sure if any of them will offer a 2 door.

I wonder if these vehicles will be designed to use the MEB platform or if they will run on a unique platform designed for improved off road performance.
