Video: Limestone color shows its chameleon nature on this Rivian R1T

Is there any way to know if this is iPhone footage?

So far, all iPhone known footage has a characteristic "blue" that people who witnessed the vehicle in real time at the time of the pic/video report is not there.

I drove 4.5 hours to SLC to see the "limestone" in person. It's washed out blue just like this video. Maybe that's some people's thing, but definitely not mine. I could not see any green in the direct sunlight or in the shade. Sorely disappointed.

The confirmation that what you see in this photo is what you saw in person is indeed useful. It is an interesting phenomena that others take pics that show the color to be much more grey and that the more grey is what they saw contemporaneously.

I've always planned on trying to see one in person and at least now that is a little easier. If I can't see it in person, I'll likely have to switch colors as well.

"Long Way Up" on apple tv + had an R1T painted in limestone, can give you an idea of what it will look like when dirty. Might be why we never saw one around, the mule may have not made it all the way "up"

Yeah. They never said what it was, only that it was not Limestone. It is obviously close, though.

It's a light grey, if you watch the show it's definitely not Launch Green. I think the truck in Long Way Up was probably a Limestone prototype or placeholder -- something close and seemed to be a non-metallic paint, so not quite Limestone.

Some people will see blue or green or even a bit of tan when they see Limestone with their own eyes and this will change with lighting and other factors. It is like 15% neutral grey with metallic flake. It takes on characteristics from its surroundings and it confuses digital cameras, more so like phones with all their extra color processing. Like how phone cameras make the accent stripes on the Black Mountain interior look green when they're really just dark charcoal, almost black.

Good to know. I'll skip it though if it helps others look before hitting another limit. I've seen the Limestone R1T in person here in Denver twice now. Personally, I love it. That's what I have configured. Still have at least a year to decide though as I wait for my Max Pack. Want to see Limestone + FE interior combo before I finalize. I'll swing by on Wednesday and if the Limestone one is still there, I'll grab some better pics/video myself.

EDIT> couldn't help myself. If you click the Reddit link and go there, the video plays. This is a great representation of how it really looks. Or at least it is on my MacBook Pro screen.

I literally just drove by a Limestone Rivian an hour ago in Sandy (SLC) Utah. It's rainy here today and I was in love with the color. I have Black on my order (white interior) but, after seeing Limestone in person, I've been thinking I'd switch from Black. Then I found this thread and I think you're all right that it changes according to the type of sun. It's definitely got a blue cast to it in the sunlight.
But in the low light of a rainy day, it's a really sexy putty grey.

I've been afraid of these colors mostly because the Ford Bronco (and Ranger) in Cactus Grey look hideous (IMHO). The Cactus Grey DEFINITELY has a sage green undertone which is not attractive.

Still trying to decide on whether to switch my interior to black from white because of the [apparent] delay with white interior.
(May/June 2022 delivery - but not holding my breath)
