Looking at the new "our company" segment realized that this might be the most detailed view of the R1T or R1S front end we have ever gotten.
I wonder if this is where the pedestrian noise maker will emit from. If so, hopefully it won’t be very loud in the cabin given where the speaker is positioned.

I look at this staged picture and laugh. Most manufacturing floors, where there is heavy equipment, require steel toe (or safety toe) boots. There might be one guy wearing them. I'm not sure what the guy front and center is doing, but the two guys on the left just caressing the battery pack while the guy in the orange shirt is watching. Finally, you have the "supervisor" hanging out on the other side of the railing (on the right) paying no attention at all to what is happening. I really hope they use bigger hand tools to assemble the Rivians! :CWL:

Well, I just bought a pair of dress shoes with steel toe. They do not look like they have a steel toe, but they do. Either way. does look staged.

What are the chances that is a production model being built.

Matty J,

Great catch! What else could it be than the safefy alert for pedestrians? That said, it seems odd to put the only one known of on the driver's side. On any two way street, no matter the number of lanes, the right side is nearer the point where most pedestrians will be. Also, a passenger side pedestrian is more likely to be unseen by the driver should they step off the curb. While most of these devices are unobtrusive in the cabin, the driver would likely hear less of this safety drone if it emanated from the passenger side of the front bumper.

Of course, it could be a bumper mounted external blue tooth subwooofer for tailgating. Maybe a megaphone to allow the driver to address the "mostly peaceful protestors", "Hey, you with the bb gun! stop blowing out all of the windows on that CyberTruck! And for God's sake, put down that goofy soft-sided sledgehammer!"

Apologies for the off topic post, not that we have new info to dissect anyway.
Hopefully the frunk opening button located prominently front and center will be disabled while in motion. Imagine a bit of debris activating this button on the highway and the hood opens catches wind, at 97mph naturally, then smashing the windshield. Memes of Rivian with this affliction ensue.

So much suspicion. Perhaps this is simply a picture of some of the new Guides getting to see the inner workings of the vehicle. We don't really know what's going on here.

It would be fairly trivial to disable it when the vehicle is in gear. If the doors lock automatically when in gear, that would handle it too.

I just think they are all looking for any sign of Launch Green in the factory at this point as production should have begun by now…

I’m pretty sure front and center in that photo is a camera. The button is under the top lip of the light strip up higher IIRC

That isn't the button for the frunk. That is the lower forward facing camera. The "button" for the frunk is tucked up farther under the grill. Here's a closeup of the camera.

At least w/ Rivian's integrated winch design it will NOT block the camera like the winch does on the new Ford Bronco...major oversight on Fords part.
