I finally curbed myself. 20 AT dark. Looks like it’s just the clear coat. What’s the best way to buff or polish this out? Is there a touch up paint or clear coat that’s recommended?
While I have not done this in my Rivian yet I did this last year in my AMG. I ended up taking it to a wheel shop and that came highly recommended. I am glad spent the money and had them do it. They charged me $150 per tire and they looked good as new. That was In Dallas and I don't know the rates for your area. I am sure there is a DIY out there but I have no practical experience with doing that. One last note: Rivian does sell 'Touch-Up Paint Pens" on their website. I will leave the link below.
I had great success using the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound for similar clear coat scuffs on my wheels. Apply it with a microfiber cloth, work in small sections, and buff gently. Follow up with a good quality wax to protect the finish. If it's a bit deeper, I recommend the Dr. ColorChip clear coat pen. It matches the paint like magic – fixed up my last scrape real nice.
