When you buy out an Rivian lease early, are you still responsible for the remaining rent charges? Say I buy the truck out after month 1 of a 36 month lease. Am I paying for the rent charges of the remaining 35 months? Or is my buyout: MSRP + tax + fees - (previous payments)
Every other car lease I have bought out levied rent charges monthly, so I wasn’t hit with this expense when I bought it out early. I just owed the difference.
My motivation for leasing over buying is the $7500 rebate, but that becomes a wash if I have to fork over rent charges when I buy it out early.
getting a lease document from Rivian has proved to be impossible for whatever reason, so I’m hoping someone can help answer this for me!
