The look like they are LED. I imagine plugged into 120V in bed or wired to 12V battery with a switch inside. Just guessing.
Where is the 12v? I would love to see the switch.

Excellent, now I just need upfitter switches. I can’t wait to see the creative ways of mounting radios and other electronics.
If GearGuard can’t be used as a dashcam, that’s yet another add-on piece of hardware.

The big open space under the middle of the dash looks like an excellent blank canvas for radios etc.
given what we’ve seen from other forum members poking around under the wrappings of the app, with the winch provisions etc, it seems like there could eventually be a way to add things like on screen switches for aux lights.

for all we know, the lights on the truck in the picture aren’t even connected.

My guess is they’ll add dashcam abilities after they’ve sorted their scaling/video output quality issues out.

I was thinking the same, right below the dash will be clean. I like the idea of programmable on screen switches, but really would prefer illuminated toggles. This is instant confirmation if something is on or not.

Looks cool. But it has to be easily detachable so it does not mess up my hypermiling ambisons.

^ you could always mount the lights to one of the luggage crossbars then remove it when not in use.

If only the attachment point for the crossbar had switched power integrated. That would be cool. Instant light bar add on.

I also think that Rivian could come up with a mini cooler to put in place of the camp speaker.

Since it’s on a roof basket mounted to the (super easy to remove) crossbars, and They have other pictures with it off…they’ve probably got some sort of connector for the lights that’s easy to undo

A cooler for 1-2 cans? Why?

I do think the balance is starting to tip here with the employee deliveries. I think most people could objectively see the benefit of employees getting first deliveries to work out manufacturing kinks and reward loyalty, but it's starting to turn the corner into very questionable judgment when people who have 3 year reservations are having their delivery date slip (again) while employees of less than a year are getting them.

I've been pretty forgiving with them so far and some of the decisions around delivery, but this is not a good look and I do think questions should be asked at the next shareholder meeting to address this.
This sounds self inflicting, but the trick is to feed these issues to multiple analysts and short seller analysts firms to push this subject via articles and with Rivian during their quarterly investor call. This can force their hand on being more open, but will come with some financial pain.
