So where are they? I figured some influencers might even have them by now, but nothing has anybody heard of anyone getting an actual delivery. Or what about an invitation to configure?

I don't have a link, but there was a post on r/Rivian showing an R2 in a persons garage. Not an influencer that I'm aware of, but they got a call earlier from Rivian asking if they were ready to purchase and take delivery.

nothing, Nada! I did a web search and not a single video of a delivery to a customer yesterday. Other manufacturers like Tesla will symbolically show a few people getting a car on " LAUNCH" day but Rivian did nothing yesterday. I leased a Gen 1 R1S in May of 2024 and I have two reservations for R2, the first reservation made on April 8, 2024. Incidentally people will be shocked but if you look at the configurator the least factor is 10.2% or higher. For 740+ credit

I stand corrected. It seems a little scarce for the launch day of a vehicle. The reservation to purchase conversion rate might not be as high as we thought since a lot of people expected subsidized leases.

The 9th was always going to be mainly a PR day. Like that Reddit thread says, there were photos taken to eventually show off online that they did start deliveries.

Considering there was only one person that reported taking delivery yesterday, I'm inclined to believe it was mostly a PR stunt to be able to claim they started deliveries on the expected day.

One thing to remember - not everyone is on social media/forums! Or they're too busy actually enjoying their vehicle in person to post about it.

I have an early vehicle by another EV startup. Mine is VIN #11. I was at the event when the first four were delivered to paying customers - it took another month for me to get #11. So in a month, ten other people had theirs. Yet I was the first owner to post about it on social media/forums/Reddit. (And yes, I annoyed other enthusiasts on Reddit/forums when I posted my "I got my vehicle!" then disappeared for a week because I was too busy enjoying it to post about it.)

Wow, just because the internet isn't flooded with delivery pics and videos you're speculating pre-order conversion rates?!?

I only speculated about pre-order conversion rates simply because I was shocked at the Lease factor. I think a lot of people thought it would be a manufacturer subsidize lease. I got my R1 in May 2024 when they were blowing out the Gen 1 vehicles and got a smoking Lease deal. The current lease factor is 10.2% or higher. I'm heading to my test drive now here in Las Vegas.

I don't understand how a non-employee person states that they got a delivery yesterday. You could not even order the car until yesterday so somebody had an inside track which should not count as a general public delivery. But I'm glad to see that they are ending up in peoples garages. No hate here, I'm waiting for the borealis color anyway.
