R1T & R1S Updated Pricing, Configuration, Specs. Dual Motor Now Available

15k extra for my config. This pushes the pricing past the Canadian (BC?) luxury vehicle tax limit, and adds a TON more taxes as result.

EDIT: looks like total BC sales taxes (PST + GST) will increase from 15% to 20% since it broke the 125k mark. This applies to the total price, not just the difference. So after taxes, this is a total price increase of actually $24k!!

Chatting with CS right now...he said LE is affected. Starting Price is now $85k.

This all makes sense now -- they held off from giving the majority of people guides, so that preliminary agreements with the old pricing wouldn't have to be signed. Now that the increase happened, I'm sure even more people will get calls from guides.

I am devastated. I feel like I’ve been baited and switched. I put down money for a quad motor truck. Now I’m being told that I have to pay extra for the vehicle I put money down on. I honestly don’t know if I’m going to be able to afford a Rivian now. Super sad.

Well this is making me reconsider. AT 20" just went up $800, Max pack up $6k, Quad motor up $6k, Forest Green up $250. Guess they realized how underpriced they were against the competition once Ford and GM announced pricing. Ugh.

That's what I was thinking. It represented a good value before. Now it's just another expensive toy I'd be afraid to play with...

My question is - will they honor current pricing and this is just for changes? Or is this a straight up price increase. Because my current config still shows $75K. But if I go to change it, that's where I see $90K now. Can I leave it alone and still get the current price?

Wow, I knew that price increases might be coming, but these are pretty big price hikes. So looks like a quad motor adventure with large battery pack is now $90,000, am I reading that right? And that's before some of the other optional upgrades. That's a huge price increase, and unfortunately would price me out of the being able to reasonably buy one. I'd certainly consider the dual motor, but that's not available till 2024. Yikes.

If you want to keep Quad Motor (not downgrade to dual motor), that's a $6k price hike.

If you want to keep Large Pack (not downgrade to the new Standard Pack), that's a $6k price hike.

Paint prices also increased - $1k extra for Red Canyon, now at $2,500

Camp Kitchen - now $6,750 instead of $5k

Tent - now $3,100 instead of ???

Spare 21" tire - now $750 instead of $600

Tonneau cover - now $1,800 or $3,000 instead of bundled

Wall charger - now $750 instead of $500 (with vehicle purchase)

$80k was pushing it - don't think I can stomach a $90k bill particularly with how little I need my current pickup.

Edit: Looking at your current configuration won't reflect the new pricing yet - the email said the following:

We’re in the process of updating your Rivian Account page to reflect these adjustments and we will send you an email notification when the update is complete. Until then, all product and pricing updates can be viewed in our configurator.​
