Honestly, fuck Rivian.

They had to know for a while these large price increases where incoming.. Did they hint at anything? Not that I am aware.

Sure, everyone would consider some price increase to be reasonable...

This isn't a little price increase, this is basically adding on a Ford Maverick to the price of the R1T. +$20K for my configuration.

And it seems like immediate orders are impacted??? WTF... at least give people awaiting deliveries this quarter the fucking original price.

Glad I already decided to get the "cheaper $52K XLT Lightning... Before Ford was looking overpriced on higher trims, now it is Rivian.

As a share holder I applaud the increase. As a former pre-order holder the increase is laughable. My preorder went up over 20%. That is not inflation.

love to hate it I guess. I cancelled. Maybe some of my shares will buy the truck in 2025 when I was scheduled to get it anyway.
As a shareholder you should sell, quickly. :CWL:

yeah... "hey, we now have 2/3 the reservations as we had in December" probably won't go great on the 10th.

It's institutional investors that will drive the stock price, not the in comparison piddly amount pre-order holders have invested. Institutional investors likely won't care about the short-term drop in pre-orders and will instead focus on the faster path to profitability on a per-unit basis. Even if half the pre-orders cancelled, Rivian is still booked through 2022 at least, and into 2023. What's the problem then if you're an investor? Plenty of time to drum up new sales. Plenty of 90k+ vehicles sell in the US, including those Teslas you're all so quick to jump ship for ?

How dare you. We are here to rage not think rationally about an investment.

Wow, get rid of the ridiculous kid friendly back seat head rest usb-c chargers and touch screen for backseat climate control as an option to save money, not charge for manual cover, hope ya'll are reading this and reconsidering to at least cut half of the price increase by doing some more practical cost cutting measures. I would be happy to drop rear heated seats to save money as well.

Rode that IPO to $142, sold out with 225 shares, glad I did…..now they push me to canceling my reservation, I’m out for good for awhile, take along time for this to recovery after the onslaught of cancellations and domestic competition in truck EV market soon

I was already right on the edge. My increase is over $10K. Despite my adamant support for the company for many years, and the great interaction I had with RJ last year. I feel deceived and offended. Guess I just gave Rivian a free loan for a couple of years.

I unfortunately have to cancel. It's a very sad day for me.

Depends on your config. Mine only went up 13k, and I've got the camp kitchen AND the tent configured. Drop those and it's like 9k? I admit the original 6k number was me not fully understanding the scope of the changes, but again, it will be variable depending on config and I still stand by my original point. I'm one that still thinks the value is there, even at 102k.
Even assuming you had silver/black (the only paint & interior colors that are free), no spare, no floormats, no crossbars...

How? $1750 increase on the kitchen, $450 for tent (IIRC), $6k for quad motor, $6k for large pack, and $3k for powered tonneau cover (or $1800 for manual if you didn't have an Adventure package truck). $16k-$17.2k range just off what you've listed.

A smaller profitable number is better than a larger lossy number

Just keep that decontent machine rolling. Tailgate. Electrochromatic roof, etc.

Why two headlights when one will work?

Why all these colors when black worked for the model T?

Christ...

I literally looked at my configurator this morning, 89750. Now it's 102350. That's 13k.

Correction, didn't notice I had to re-add the improved underarmor, so it's a 15k increase for me.

Staying with my order. The R1S was at the price I paid for a rear wheel drive 75kwh Model S back in 2016. I always thought the price was low and assumed it had to go up. Still seems like a value and there is nothing else currently on the market that fits my list.
