With servers and software running the show, I just don't understand why (for the time being) my Configurator (without making any changes to it) remains unaffected by price changes. I know this must be a pipe-dream that will vaporize shortly but for now I can imagine that its exempt for some reason.

Here's the 'now' pricing for a non-LE R1S reserved only about two months ago. Although I also hold an R1T LE reservation made mid-2020.

I closed my browser, logged in & out at least 4 times, did all that again and still unchanged.... (for now)

blame cloud cdn server, some regions gets update slowly... :)

Seems folks very close to delivery aren't seeing this increase. I wonder if that applies to all March/April holders?
Nope, March/April R1T LE here and I got the email.

I just built out my same build in the new configurator.

Previous Price: $92,125
New Price: $110,250.

That's a 20% increase!

I get inflation and supply chain issues, but $110,250 is pretty nuts and not sure I can justify it anymore. Rivian just crossed over from a high-end borderline luxury vehicle to Super Luxury or Ultra Luxury tier...all without changing the product.
Only folks outside the industry think 20 percent is crazy, those of us in the auto parts industry are surprised it is not more. Our exhaust system factory DOUBLED the price on pretty much everything during the last two years, and catalytic converters are three and four and five times the costs of two years ago. All stainless and aluminum materials costs are up far more than 20 percent.

Congrats. Great news. I hope it goes smoothly and you get what you expected. I am in the disposable category. Got the email about price increase. Even though my page still show the old price the email says they are not finished with me and they will update it. I will keep th ereservation until this page is changed for me:

1646177536235.webp
just go into your configuration and it will change. My R1S LE went from 78k to 92k. crossbar price up, floor mat price up...everything across the board...this moves the R1S too close to the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo...I'll keep my reservation to get a test drive in Denver, selling my shares before they get crushed when 50% of reservations get cancelled, and sell my Rivian gear on eBay

You know what... I am truly FUKIN MAD right now as this horrible situation sinks in.... I ordered a Ford F-150 Powerboost Hybrid King Ranch truck about a year and a half ago, and it finally arrived at the local dealership in October last year. Got the call from internet sales manager who said "your truck has arrived" and reiterated the dealer's policy of holding firm to MSRP for ordered vehicles. Heck they even agreed to do X-Plan pricing to save about -1% under MSRP. I went and saw it, drove it and really loved it. BUT I DECLINED IT saying I don't want to pay mid-$70K for that tech when I can pay the same for Rivian's leading-edge tech. I walked away from it. Hard to explain but on the drive home I had such a weird feeling about having made a stupid decision....

I would take that truck in a heartbeat right now. :crying:

I'm no stock wizard by any means, but aside from your general annoyance with the company as an order holder wouldn't this actually be a GOOD thing for your stock in the long run? They have pissed off a bunch of people, but they will replace those of us who maybe can't afford their vehicle now with people who can. And they will be profitable much quicker than anticipated.

As our production continues to ramp up, we want to share new information that affects your Rivian preorder.

Vehicle base pricing and the cost of certain options, upgrades and accessories have increased. All packages of the R1S will now only be offered in a 7-seat configuration.

We’re in the process of updating your Rivian Account page to reflect these adjustments and we will send you an email notification when the update is complete. Until then, all product and pricing updates can be viewed in our configurator.

These price increases — the result of inflationary pressure on the cost of supplier components and raw materials across the world — will allow us to maintain product excellence as we continue investing in electrification for our shared future. We remain committed to offering compelling products and helping drive competition, inspiring as many drivers as possible to switch to electric vehicles.

To that end, today we’re also announcing the introduction of Rivian Dual-Motor AWD for both R1T and R1S. Dual-Motor AWD features one motor for each axle for exceptional power and control. The system is designed to excel both off-road and on-road, going from 0-60 mph in as few as 4.0 seconds while still delivering all-wheel traction. Deliveries are planned to begin in 2024. We are also introducing our 260+ mile range Standard battery pack, with deliveries planned to begin in 2024.* Dual-Motor AWD and Standard battery pack are available now in our configurator, where you can find more information on each.

We’re grateful to you for being an early supporter of Rivian and helping drive the EV movement towards an enduring and livable world. If you have any questions about your preorder, we’re here to answer them.

Thank you again for being on this journey with us.

— Team Rivian

Holy Molly, my R1T just jumped about $18,000. Are you crazy? I went from $80,800 to $97,700. My old configuration I didn’t have to pay for white paint now it’s 1,750 not to mention a boat load of other things that was once included.
More than likely I’m going to bow out. This is ridiculous.
I don’t know how Rivian expected us to respond to this but I think they have a screw loose.

According to @Diddy123 it looks like 2019 orders might have escaped the price hike.
I'm a day one (probably minute one) 11/2018, LE preorder holder and CS confirmed the price hike applies to my LE build (CA bay area) ....so it seems to be selectively targeted at people who got a guide contact and are in some form of the process of purchasing. I never got a guide contact. Seems arbitrary, some folks who pre-ordered more than 1.5 years after me did get guide contacts. I'm sure they had to do this, but finding a different way of messaging this (perhaps a year ago when it was clear inflation and supplier shortages were real) would have been smarter than right before people were expecting sales to start. These new prices seem to be more in line with the market tbh, so it was expected, but they shouldn't have marked expectations for so long at the low price. Curious what will happen to demand and the stock in the next earnings call.

My current stable includes a Ridgeline, picture below with the wife and Pup after coming back from an SCCA race weekend. It's good, but still looking forward to my Rivian. When the Rivian arrives likely sell my 08 Dakota, we are a two truck family and car parts business and one truck is never enough. By the way, that's our commercial building with 100 solar panels on it, when we get a Rivian truck it will charge for FREE.

Is that under 5000 lb? how did it do towing that ?

My configuration went up $16k. Once I add the removable top option this is likely a $100k truck. F-it, I am in and maybe get it sooner!
