I know it's still new and there are still more question than answers but I finally got a look at the R2 in person.

I am not a fan of the big raised Rivian lettering on the rear. Anyone know if these are held on with adhesive or if they have a physical holding attachment?

I'm fortunate to have a service center in my town, I've been keeping an eye on the demo drive availability but what my schedule allows doesn't have any openings :(

Most people dont know what a Rivian is anyway. I have thought about this a few times and think it's a great idea. The car would look very clean. Most lettering is held up by glue and can be easily removed. I'd do some searching online to see if and how anyone else has done it.

Basically 3M double sided adhesive tape. Park in sun, dental floss or fishing line + elbow grease. Paint cleaner/plolish + protectant afterwards to clean up fine scratches you added in process.

I hav e debadged vehiclwes before, but the R2 badging doesn't bother me. I think it might look a bit bland in the back without the RIVIAN spelled out as it is. Maybe just remove the R2 badge?

(I am also a stockholder, and don't mind helping get the word out about Rivian...)

Maybe one of our resident photoshop wizards can give us some visuals?

I too have debadged other vehicles before, I like the clean look.

Most small badges use 3m adhesive but some have a physical connection and would leave a hole if removed. The letters on the R2 are large and stick out a good distance, I'm guessing is it's held on with adhesive but the size of them makes me wonder if my guess is wrong.

Cleaning and waxing around the letting has got to be problematic.

*I tried searching for my answer and found information on the R1 but not the R2.

I dunno. I always people who debadge their cars are embarrassed to own it. Dealer decals on the other hand get removed the day it hits my garage. Not that there would be any on the Rivian.

Embarrassment has nothing to do with it, maybe for some but I'm one like others prefer the clean look.

There is a thread on debadging an R1T.

One of our members @HAL9000 had his R2 fully PPF'd and all the lettering was removed and put back on. He noted that they are just adhesive and no holes.

Search for his post and you can see for yourself or send him a private message.

Thanks, that was what I was looking for. When I first joined this forum I saw the post but forgot it was for the R2.

Mods, you can close this thread, my question has been answered.

Same here. The look is cleaner AND it's easier to wash.

Although I might not debadge my R2. Rivian is new enough that it can help get their name out, and the R2 badge is one of the easiest ways to figure out which Rivian it is.

That is a good point. I have invested a fair amount in Rivian stock, lol.

Though I remember reading about how many people were running internet searches for an automaker KN when Kia updated their logo.

I did a quick and dirty version of what the rear end would look like without the RIVIAN across the back....
Rivian R1T R1S R2 debadge? R2NO BADGE

Personally, I don't care for it, but to each his own.

Those pictures does make me wonder how it would look in person. The space almost looks lacking empty. Maybe moving the R2 badge to where the V goes, it would also help when you're opening the back.

Having recently joined the waiting list I'll have time to think about it.
