I did opt for both financing and insurance and I have to say that both went smoothly. Financing rate wasn't bad at 3.45, and the insurance was higher than I'm paying now but am swapping out an $8k truck (maybe) for an $80k truck. I'll shop around later, was just heading down the path of least resistance.

With plenty of YT Rivian R1T driving videos there is no real need for a physical test drive. Everyone who has driven an R1T raves about how good it drives on and off the road. Most of it can be contributed to the superb McLaren inspired suspension.

The McClaren inspiration is the hydraulic roll-control system, not the air suspension. Their air suspension isn't anything fancier than LRs or the like have.

That said, I took a sharp I-5 onramp exiting Seattle at 45mph (rated for like 25) and was absolutely blown away by how little it pulled me to the side, compared to my Defender, so the roll-control/sway-control is superb.

Holy shit ladies and gents... just finished the 8 step process and have delivery scheduled on 3/10 @1pm!!!!! I'd finished the preliminary buyer's agreement 12 days ago and was quoted 4-6 weeks for delivery. Woohoo!!!

where are you (roughly) in the PNW - feels like Oregon and Washington are getting some love w/ these deliveries.

Agreed. I wasn't complaining. It looks like it was more a desire to get the software update flashed than the trucks built. They obviously have had a lot of trucks sitting around waiting to get shipped. Doesn't matter, the flood gates are opened.

I hadn't considered they were waiting for the new software, but that makes sense.

He did not say - and actually re reading it this was what he actually typed - guess it was "his" 4th delivery in Texas..... guess my excitement got the best of me....

"That's awesome! We appreciate you very much! You are going to be my fourth delivery in Texas. I'm glad to see us pushing for deliveries down there. Where do you work at?"

And I am in the Katy area - west Houston.

I don't think I will use Rivian at 3.45%. BofA has a published rate of 2.59% and I think I can get it down to less than 2%. Heck, I have a line of credit at a current rate of 1.4%

I sold mine last june, been paying insurance on it still tho to keep my license plate as I cannot turn it in easily.
