Question might have been missed (or else I missed the answer) so I'll ask again: how are the Rivian maps/nav? Have you used it to get to the grocery store? So much obsession around here for carplay; kinda wondering whether or not v1 is any good. (Could not test at First Drive event.)

If auto companies are not going to offer support for Android Auto and CarPlay, they should offer something better and understand what it takes to continually invest and improve their offering.

If they don’t, they’re wasting their time as well as unnecessarily frustrating their customers.

Did you have any issues registering your R1T in your state due to weight?

I wonder if this applies to R1S as well or it is just a truck thing.

currently rocking commercial plates. The state has been slow as molasses. So
When the exemption happens I just reregister it under PAS plates.

it’s a relatively simple fix, but it’s not a fix that consumers have to power to fix. We (in NY) need to wait a bit for the government.

I didn’t watch the whole video but it applies to any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of over 6k lbs. it has to happen with cars like the G wagon and Escalade. We just don’t see it on the consumer end since these companies are super established and these models were cleared pre COVID. Rivian has the fabulous scenario of being new and waiting on a NYS government in a delayed state.

Hey @timesinks if you would drive from my house in N Seattle to Mazama via I-90 (the long way in winter) and let me know:

1) how long you needed to charge in Leavenworth
2) SOC upon arrival

Unknown if they used color LEDs. I would definitely not assume they did.

Sorry my bad. I misunderstood all LED are color changeable. White looks cool to me.

Dang my bad, I did not realize that communication to the R1T is via WiFi or cellular and not like OnStar or Kia Connect.

OnStar is 100% cellular. I assume Kia Connect is too.

Sorry if asked but didn’t see the question in the first ten pages. Can you comment on space in the second row for a six footer and for children in child seats? How’s the legroom if the driver is also a six footer (ie with the seat positioned back considerably)? How’s the space if three adults occupied the backseat? Thanks!

I’ll echo everyone else here and start off by saying, you have our deepest appreciation for taking the time to read and answer these questions! You have your trucks now, but you probably remember what the anticipation and unanswered questions running through your head was like. Like an itch you can’t scratch!

I know RIVIAN has a lot of smart people working for them and they have had a long time to develop, engineer, and fine tune things. But reading through this thread, makes me hope they do the same. There are a lot of really great questions and thoughts so far. Most ideas/features seem like they could be software updates later if RIVIAN felt so inclined.

So thanks to all the folks asking questions and to the lucky ones who can answer them for us!

Rivian is using AT&T as a carrier. You don’t need a separate AT&T account.
You’d pay rivian for connectivity, which is utilizing AT&T’s network.
