I hate to say it, but the same thing that happened to cohall happened to me - also in Denver. I'm a March 2019 RH and haven't heard from a guide and just found out from a friend of mine who reserved a year later that he was contacted for delivery. It's frustrating for sure.

I'll give a call to CS in the morning and see if I can get anywhere.

Tonight I'm going to throw myself a pity party.
Your neighbor's delivery is one of the trucks with early glitches. Yours will be perfect.

I am actually OK with the fact that my 2023 Explore configuration wont start production until next year.

It gives Rivian some time to fine tune the paint and assembly process. I believe Rivian is only assembling 40 R1T pickup trucks per day.

My best theory is the factory built a few adventure trims to make sure the assembly line is set up right for them once the LEs are all done. If that is the case, they need to ship the adventure trims to someone.

That is my "glass half full" view.

The rest of me still says that is messed up and I would be fuming.

To the original poster, contact Rivian (should have done that prior to posting anything on here).

This seems like a database thing. there may be some accessory or adventure gadget that they didn’t have in stock and when they get it yours will be released 99,8% of the build is identical but that one last item means one goes out the door and one waits. Computers are dumb. An argument is true only when it becomes completely true and not until then.
Now, if you sat down with your neighbor and went over their build sheet line by line and everything was completely identical then it doesn’t figure. Good luck in your search. I hope it comes soon, either way.

I’ve decided that I’m definitely getting punk’d by Rivian.

My neighbor just got their R1T delivered today. Literally exact same specs as my configuration, Same color, same interior, same options. They posted lots of happy photos of taking delivery.

My neighbor ordered over 10 months after I did.

I’m losing my faith.
How many times did you change your configuration? I understand that every time you change your reservation is re-evaluated and your build/delivery window is potentially adjusted.

The whole rollout in Denver has just been ... strange. As you know, getting a test drive in Denver was an adventure. I was finally able to get one scheduled in April after my fourth request to CS over a two month period. And that was only after I somewhat sheepishly asked them, ”Is there something wrong with my account?”

They had that event at the Denver service center, but they didn’t really invite any of the LE pre holders.

I also feel like I have seen significantly fewer deliveries in Denver on social media than in other locales like PNW. I know not everyone is going to post about their delivery. But it does just feel odd that they have so many at the service center, and maybe we have heard about 2-3 deliveries?

I tried to think of anything that would result in your neighbor getting an earlier delivery of the same exact configuration in the same zip code. I had wondered if there was alphabetical sorting by last name (because I am near the end of the alphabet), but that doesn’t even seem possible based on the post in the facebook group. My only question is whether your neighbor is somehow affiliated with Rivian in any way and is maybe on some “friends and family” list.

Since when?

This makes zero sense. Launch edition is the same content as adventure package but with the following additions: a tiiiny “launch edition“ inscription on the dash, an available exclusive colour, 20” AT or 22” sport wheels as a no cost option, and delivery before adventure package trucks.

Launch edition is validation build for adventure package.

You don’t lose your place in line per se, but CS at least made it sound like to me that if you have changed your config since Nov 2021, the delivery estimate they gave you may not be accurate. You may lose your place in the build order.

If this is true then I plan on writing Launch Edition in crayon on a price of paper that I'm going to scotch tape to the dash of my adventure R1T

Should really help with resale value I think.
