1) 120V with portable charger getting 2 kw/hr if that. I think you'll find putting the portable charger back in the bag to get harder to do over time. I'm on day 3 of ownership and curling it back up is getting old.First off, thanks for EVERYONE chiming in and answering all of these questions for the community. So excited!!!
I'm waffling on the type of charging to setup in my garage. One option, install a NEMA 14-50 plug on a 50 amp circuit breaker and start out by using the Rivian Portable Charger (I don't drive much, so that should be more than enough for my needs). The other option is the Rivian Wall Charger hard-wired on a 60 amp circuit breaker.
A couple of questions for owners:
1) what are you using now and how's it working? Any challenges?
2) if you're using the Rivian Portable Charger with the NEMA 14-50 plug - are you having any issues with the GFIC circuit breaker tripping (one concern I have)?
3) regardless of your current charging method, can you specify the rate of charge through the app?
Many thanks!!
Will you feel comfortable leaving your car without the portable charger and how much are you willing to pay for convenience?
